NSCN-IM refutes Manipur Police’s claims on Molham Kuki village, demands accountability

The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) has strongly refuted the Manipur Police’s recent claims regarding Molham Kuki village. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Publicity of the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN), the NSCN -IM asserted that the village is a hub for Kuki militants rather than a base for Border Security Force (BSF) companies, as suggested by the police.
The NSCN is said to have described the police’s assertion—that BSF companies would be stationed in the village—as “ridiculously misleading.” They allegedly questioned the credibility of the claim, suggesting that it aligns with concerns of alleged collusion between the central and state governments and Kuki militants.

The council purportedly claimed that Molham Kuki village serves as the main base for approximately 200 Kuki militants and criticized the police for attempting to mislead the public. It further emphasized that no BSF or Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camps exist in the area, maintaining that the village is instead being used as a militant headquarters.
The NSCN is believed to have warned that if the police’s statement were accurate, it would fuel suspicions of deeper collusion with militant factions. They reportedly expressed concerns that BSF presence in the village could serve as a cover for Kuki militants, potentially disguised as security personnel to evade detection by the Naga Army.
Citing a “trust deficit” between the police and the public, particularly within the Naga community, the council allegedly called for transparency and accountability in addressing these issues. The NSCN also reportedly accused the police of misreporting the presence of a Bihar Regiment camp at the Karong River as a CRPF camp, urging corrections to restore public trust.
The organization has purportedly urged the police to acknowledge the ground realities and disclose the true nature of military activities in and around Molham Kuki village. It also highlighted the importance of rebuilding credibility with the local population.

The NSCN’s statement is viewed as a reflection of ongoing regional tensions and the complex relationships between local factions and government forces, with demands for clarity and fair governance resonating among the people of Nagalim.
