The NSCN-K (Ang Mai) has reiterating its stance on the Naga national βmovement for sovereigntyβ and the ongoing cease-fire with India, describing the cease-fire as a roadmap toward a political settlement rather than an end in itself.
In a statement issued by Major General (Rtd.) Ang Mai, Nyeiton Konyak, and Kughalu Mulatonu, the NSCN-K (Ang Mai) also urged the Christian community to pray for the vision of βNagaland for Christβ and emphasised the NSCNβs commitment to preserving Naga identity, freedom, and self-determination.
The NSCN-K (Ang Mai) also voiced concerns about groups manipulating the cease-fire process to promote βfactionalism, accordism, and groupism,β urging all to uphold the sanctity of the Naga national cause. Β It called on groups that have surrendered to the Indian Army to cease βillegal taxationβ under the guise of political cease-fire and instead rely on rehabilitation packages provided by the Government of India.
Furthermore, the NSCN-K (Ang Mai) criticised the Nagaland State government, led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, accusing it of financially aiding certain groups while undermining the foundation of Naga nationalism. It described this alleged patronage as a betrayal and called for an end to such practices.
Reaffirming its commitment to the Naga sovereignty movement, the NSCN-K (Ang Mai) conveyed its gratitude toward countries like China, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, which it credited as foundational partners in the Naga revolution. The group declared its unwavering integrity and honesty in pursuing its goals, vowing not to betray Nagas, India, or Myanmar on the issue of sovereignty.
The statement concluded with a call for unity among Naga groups and a resolve to maintain the principles of the Naga national movement.
